Fee Structure Per Year:

Total – KES 56,420.00: The total fee payable for the academic year, encompassing tuition and various services provided by the institute.

Here’s the breakdown of the fee;

Tuition – KES 30,480.00: This fee covers the cost of instruction and academic resources provided by the institute. It ensures that students receive quality education and training in their chosen fields.

Personal Emolument – KES 11,520.00: The personal emolument fee caters to the welfare and well-being of students. It includes expenses related to student welfare services, such as counseling, medical care, and student support programs.

Electricity, Water, and Conservancy – KES 3,260.00: This fee covers the costs of electricity, water, and general maintenance of the institute’s facilities. It ensures that students have a conducive learning environment with access to basic amenities.

Local Transport and Travelling – KES 3,165.00: This fee supports the provision of transportation services for students, enabling them to attend practical training sessions, field trips, and other academic activities.

Repairs, Maintenance, and Improvement – KES 1,645.00: The repairs, maintenance, and improvement fee contribute to the upkeep and enhancement of the institute’s infrastructure and equipment, ensuring a conducive learning environment for students.

Industrial Attachment/Medical/Insurance – KES 3,000: This fee covers the expenses associated with industrial attachments, medical services, and insurance coverage for students during their practical training and academic activities.

Activity/Clubs and Societies – KES 3,350.00: Thika Technical Training Institute encourages students to engage in extracurricular activities and join clubs and societies. Other Levies Payable:

In addition to the above fees, students are required to pay the following levies:

Student council (KES 200/= per term) – KES 600/=: This levy supports the student council’s activities, allowing students to participate in decision-making processes and contribute to the institute’s governance.

Student Smart Card – KES 600/=: The student smart card is a multifunctional card that facilitates access to various institute services, such as library resources, printing facilities, and attendance tracking.

Registration Fee – KES 1,500/=: This fee covers the administrative costs associated with student registration and ensures proper documentation and record-keeping.

ICT Infrastructure – KES 500/=: The ICT infrastructure fee supports the development and maintenance of the institute’s information and communication technology facilities, enabling students to access digital resources and online learning platforms.

Examination – (Depends on the course module): The examination fee varies depending on the specific course module undertaken by the student. It is mandatory for all students to pay the examination fee in full upon reporting to the institute.

Note:

i) Examination fee is applicable to all levels and MUST be paid in full upon reporting.

ii) The fees charged for the year include a Government Subsidy of KES 30,000.00. This subsidy aims to make technical education more affordable and accessible to students.
